Our Church Ministries

Children Ministries

We have about 25 children between the ages of 3 and 18 in our Sunday School classes and provide classes ranging from pre-school to senior high. Each Sunday from 9:00 – 10:00 am, we offer Bible lessons, craft time, snack time and music time for the children. These ministries are taught and led by volunteers of Vineland United Methodist Church. Our volunteered education staff also organizes a Vacation Bible School (VBS) each June, during which we serve not only our church children, but the children of our community as well. We usually have between 40 to 50 kids attended in the past years.

Youth Ministries

We have a very active youth group. Our number may be small, but we are mighty in our presence. We work within the church and community. The youth group actively involves in the church service in areas such as ushering and greeting, acolytes, children’s sermon and special music. We also observe a youth Sunday at least once a year when we take care of the entire service, including preaching.

For the past few years, we have been attending a youth conference in Denver called Dare2Share. This event challenges youth to share Jesus with their friends. Among the other projects the youth group are involved in are: sponsoring a girl in Uganda through Compassion International, raising money for our local soup kitchen, working at our food booth during the State Fair (August each year) and volunteering time to help at Vacation Bible Study. Each year, the youth also attend a summer youth camp at Beaver Creek Christian Camp & Retreat Center. One of our major plans is to go on an out of state mission trip in the coming year. The youth at Vineland Methodist Church are awesome!!

Adult Bible Study

We currently have an adult Bible study on Wednesdays at 7 p.m. We also have an adult Sunday school class on Sundays at 9 a.m. On Wednesdays, we use the Bible as our text and on Sundays we follow the lectionary readings. The aim of these adult study groups is to search the Bible together and grow together. We do not rely on one person to lead or teach, but we study, discuss and learn from one another. We do so with an attitude of respect for others’ theological perspectives and spiritual experiences, acknowledging that we cannot have a uniformity of thoughts and beliefs.
